Arnott’s Tim Tam Chocolicious Bites – A little more perfecter?

Arnott’s have released a new range of Tim Tams, Chocolicious and claim that these are “a little more perfecter”.  I am looking forward to reviewing these.  It has been many many years since I last tried a Tim Tam.  I do recall them being delicious.

Once I awakened to what harmful additives could be included in our food, I couldn’t look at them at the same.

I have not looked at them for a long time.  Manufacturers continually change their ingredients without warning.  So lets go back to the beginning and see what is included in the existing range of Tim Tams.

When I get my hands on a pack of the new Tim Tam Chocolicious I will review the ingredients for you.  If you happen to see them in the shop, feel free to take a pic and send it through and I will have a review and update the blog.

Why should you be cautious of these additives?

Colours

Did you know that repeated scientific studies have shown that artificial colours can affect children’s behaviour?

These artificial colours have been removed in other countries around the world or they must carry a label warning.  Not here in Australia!

Flavours

Currently, as our legislation stands, additives used within flavours do not need to be disclosed unless they are in the 6 series of numbers ie 621 etc.  Often the composition of these flavours are too complex to be added to an ingredients label, and we have no idea what is included in this ingredient!

So, I hear you ask, how can colours affect my child’s behaviour? What symptoms could I see?

For sensitive individuals these colours (which include Caramel, Red, Sunset yellow, Brilliant Blue) included in the Tim Tams above could cause the following symptoms:

Asthma

Aggressive behaviour

Headaches

Diarrohoea

Hyperactivity

Nausea

Skin issues (hives, eczema, rashes)

Vomiting

Learning difficulties

My family have experienced the following symptoms when consuming these colours:

Asthma, aggressive behaviour, headaches, diarrohoea, hyperactivity, nausea, hives and eczema. Once we removed all the harmful food additives from our diet all these symptoms disappeared. I am hoping the new Arnott’s Tim Tam Chocolicious Bites range is “a little more perfecter” and a lot of these additives have been removed from the product.

If your child is suffering with any of the symptoms above and you are unsure if harmful food additives could be the cause,
